Watching the press conference
It appears that the left wing failed in some manner. They lost the sensors on the left wing temperature, left main gear tire temp increase. Then they lost all sensors on the left wing, then they lost all contact.

I heard this on the day of the crash. But I didn't know what to think of it then. There were few specifics until 3 PM.
