I've hit a couple of milestones recently. First, via Bravenet, I've gotten my 20,000th hit:
The other counters actually show more hits, but the Bravenet one is the one everyone sees, so that is the one I'm mentioning.
Second, when you go to google and search on fisking, you get my old site at the top of the results list, which is rather cool, but also a little depressing. It is depressing because I feel like I've become "The Knack" of blogs. One really big post that everyone thought was great, but became more of a flash in the pan than anything else. Also, it bothers me because I think I've written better stuff. I think the post of the speech Jimmy Carter should have made to the Nobel committee is as good, if not better. My post on the evils of the Corporate Average Fuel Economy law I think is as good as well. The Carter post was moderately picked up by the blogosphere, the CAFE one not at all.
I shouldn't really complain that much. I do get more than my fair share of pageviews. It's just that after getting 2000 impressions a day back in late September, it is a bit of a letdown to get only a couple hundred hits a day or so. Anyway, that's my navel-gazing for the month.
