Iraqi Parliament Chiefs Blast U.N. Resolution
Remember about how I compared the wrangling at the UN and compared it to a poker game? Well, Saddam is right now about to turn over his pair of deuces and say, "Dueces! read 'em and weep!" Too bad he didn't notice that France and Russia folded a week ago.
Don't think that Saddam is going to play a game where he overrules his "parliament" to appear reasonable. That ain't the way totalitarian societies work. Saddam can't even do feigned disagreement, because totalitarian dictators are so self-evidently perfect that to express disagreement is actually a crime. Saddam will claim that the rejection is the result of "democratic process"(of course, without a single no vote), and dare the US to overthrow his "popularly elected" government("no" votes punishable by death, of course) .
Saddam is so predictable, you could use him in place of Daffy in the (warning, large link)Pronoun Trouble cartoon with Bugs.
Update: Well, it looks like I was wrong. Truth be told, I didn't know that his son/coconspirator Uday "argued" just the opposite. It doesn't change a thing, though.
