I am Back!

October 23, 2002

While the sniper thing was going on, I initially thought it was a terrorist attack, then I thought it was a lone nut.

I take that all back. I just heard saw on fox news that they are searching a property in Tacoma, and they are looking for suspects in Washington State and Alabama. I am now convinced that it is definitely, and I mean definitely al Qaeda. Here is why. Some of this you have heard before, and some you haven't.

  1. The victims share nothing in common, except for being American.
  2. The attacks were concentrated in Washington, which has a very high concentration of national media, political figures, and the like, guaranteeing national media coverage.
  3. All the attacks have occurred from locations of good cover, indicating some reconnoitering has taken place, and the attackers have been able to escape quickly, indicating more than a bit of planning.
  4. The demand for money--not the act of the average lone nut.
  5. The area where the FBI is now searching with metal detectors in Tacoma, Washington. Earnest James Ujaama, a protege of Al Qaeda recruiter Abu Hamza Al-Masri, tried to set up a ranch as a training camp in Tacoma.
  6. The FBI has also obtained a search warrant for some location in Alabama. In Marion, Alabama, a camp known as Ground Zero, USA was used for weapons training. On the grounds were shot up police vehicles and school buses.

This is no coincidence. I guarantee that by this time tomorrow, the Al Qaeda link will be firmly established.

Update: Fox is now reporting that cops are looking for a Chevy Caprice with New Jersey plates. Gee, what a shock.

Update: MSNBC has added some detail about the car. It is a blue/burgundy 1990 Chevy Caprice with New Jersey plates. And in case anyone doesn't know, a number of Islamofascist terrorist attacks have originated in New Jersey, the 1st WTC attack, Meir Kahane assassination, the attempted Lincoln Tunnel bombing, etc.

Update(They're coming fast and furious today)Robin Goodfellow reports that they are looking for two people from the Bellingham Washington area. A quick google search brings up this reprinted story from the March 21 Wall Street Journal which has a vague link to Bellingham. In the intel business, there ain't no such thing as coincidences.

Update: Fox News is now reporting that the FBI is now serving a search warrant in Marion, Alabama in (here's another shock) Camp Ground Zero, which means my initial hypothesis is now correct.

Update: Fox news is reportings the names Lee Malvo(sp?) and John Mohammed(aka John Allen Williams), an ex soldier. Gee, Mohammed, who'd a thunk it?

Update: Plate number is NDA 21Z

Good work.

Regarding point 1: the victims weren't only American. The locations have seemed to me — from the beginning — to have been selected exactly for their everyday-American-cultural implications (gas stations, craft stores, Home Depot, a school, a restaurant, and so on).

Staking out a school is the one that really burns me (remember that we were told that terrorists might target schools). Hopefully this investigation will out a large chunk o' network.

Are you talking about the Indian taxi driver who was shot? I forgot about him. I wonder if he was hindu or not.

The day that someone can tell from hundreds of yards away that someone is American, God help us.

Well, for people from outside the US, they actually can spot an American pretty well. We supposedly walk different(as per Dinesh D'Souza), and of course we dress different. Not that we have a genetically different gate, but supposedly we "walk" like an American.

There was already a weird message at the school of that young boy, even in addition to the tarot card and whatever was written on the card. The shooter was scum enough to wound the child but he was left alive. It was relatively clear and loud. Plus to me it appeared that the shooter spent most time waiting there.
Not that I have a solution or even a premonition now. If it's a cell, then everybody should watch everybody from now on and that's exactly what they wanted.
But two psychotic written letters in quick succession indicate a small desperate group, not a large, stable organization.
Maybe we need to go back and revisit all those events you mentioned.

Re: #2

The Indian taxi driver was a Seventh-day Adventist and, I believe, and American. He was the cousin of an acquaintance of mine.

I read this on another site: the sniper's name was released.

A possible #7--and I'll admit I'm not entirely convinced of this: many of the shootings occurred at gas stations. Gas = Oil = "U.S. Imperialism in the Mideast," which is enough to piss off certain folks.

Of course, the gas stations may simply have been convenient targets of opportunity: a steady stream of people, easy access to freeways for the get-away, etc.

Here's a story on Fox, might be more useful to you:

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,66470,00.html
The FBI is searching a location near Marion, Ala., known as Camp Ground Zero USA -- a place known to train militia groups. FBI sources told Fox News "they are not at liberty to comment" on the investigation and cannot confirm or deny their agents are investigating Camp Ground Zero USA.

Hey, one of these guys is supposedly an ex-servicemember? Like McVeigh, right? This comes to me after reading a collection of evidence suggesting a link between Iraq and McVeigh. Curiouser and curiouser...

Re: #10, Of course, McVeigh didn't worship Allah, FWIW.

I agree that it does look like an Al Qaeda/islamofascist attack. Absolutely.

But, you know, stricly hypothetically speaking, if it would turn out to be just a crazy white guy (or anyone else for that matter), your vitriol saturated tone against muslims would kind of bite you in the ass.

John
greetings,

as u mentioned in the post #4, we that live outside of the US do quickly pickup on when a person is from the states...dress of course is the first item - in general americans dress quite casually, even when they think they are dressing up

then there are other things, such as body gestures, or just not meeting certain norms or local customs, (sitting on the terrace at wrong hours, walking in the sun vs shade, wearing a baseball cap, wearing white socks, etc).

and, those are just few of the more noticeable ones...and none of it has to do with skin color...the other day i was passing a couple and could tell that the parents were japanese, but the son was an american...i stopped to see if i was right, and yep...

but it's the same for everybody...ive been in paris before and from a block away i could tell a woman was spanish from the cut of her mink coat.

cheers

Tomas, there is one problem though. He was an islamofascist. There are lots of woulda-coulda-shouldas, but the initial speculation of most people that it was an islamofascist turned out to be correct.

Three of the victims were not US citizens. In addition to the aforementioned Indian cabdriver, a woman with the last name Ramos was a housekeeper from El Salvador and a retired Haitian, Pascal Charlot were also victims.

I'm sorry, but the notion that someone could recognize someone as American from a great distance or even close up is IMHO, silly. I've been mistaken as a German in Germany, Brazilian in Brazil, Spaniard in Spain, French in France, etc. Indeed, the only countries where I know right away that no one thought I was a native were Morocco, Guatemala, Belize, and Mexico. In all instances where I was assumed to be a native, people were close to me.

This, IMHO is looking even less and less like an Al Qaeda operation. One of the accused calls and makes reference to the Montgomery murders; these guys live in a homeless shelter in Bellingham, WA; the fact that they were traveling around virtually destitute. If it's Al Qaeda, then they are really underfunded and inept in terms of covering their tracks and continuing to carry out their operation.
